A Unique Combination of Olympic Sport Genetics and Proven Grand Prix Bloodlines

The dam line of this young mare is particularly interesting. She comes from the same dame as Mandato van de Neerheide, the 1.60m Grand Prix performer successfully competed by Christian Ahlmann. In 2023, Mandato won, among others, the 5 Grand Prix of Rome*, the World Cup qualifier in Mechelen and the Nations Cup in Brussels, as well as the GCL Super Cup in Prague. In 2024, he competed in the World Cup Final in Riyadh.

This very young mare, born in 2024, is in foal to none other than Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, bringing together two exceptional sport and breeding lines.

The mare herself is by Uricas vd Kattevennen, the proven 1.60m Grand Prix performer who developed into a horse of the highest international level under Harrie Smolders. Uricas competed at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. His career also includes several impressive victories. In 2023, he won both the 5 Grand Prix of St. Gallen* and the 5 Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Riesenbeck* with Harrie Smolders. In 2024, they achieved, among other results, third places in the Rolex Grand Prix of ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Grand Prix of Rotterdam and the Tourmaline Oil Cup at Spruce Meadows. They also finished second with the Dutch team in the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona.

The sire of the future foal is Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, one of the most influential stallions in modern show jumping. Emerald competed successfully at 1.60m level with Harrie Smolders for many years. His impressive record includes victories in Nations Cups in Aachen, Gijón, Falsterbo and Rotterdam, the World Cup in Washington and the Grand Prix classes of Chantilly and Bordeaux. In 2016, he finished second in the World Cup Final in Gothenburg and represented Belgium at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

Emerald has also built an exceptional reputation as a sire. His offspring include international top-level horses such as Imerald van ’t Voorhof, Kasper van het Hellehof, Jaguar van de Berghoeve, Mandato van de Neerheide, Nice van ’t Zorgvliet and Igor.
